A Sense of Community
Built in

When you purchase a share in the cooperative, you not only get a home, you also get neighbors who share your interests as well as your address. Estoria Lakeville is designed with an abundance of community space that promotes socialization and encourages a participatory lifestyle. Getting to know your neighbors is easy. Since you all own a share of the cooperative, you get to elect the cooperative’s governing board. Whether you’re retired or still actively employed, there are opportunities available for you to serve and share your gifts and talents within the community.

Cooperatives Work Without All the Work

Choosing cooperative living means that you still own a home—you just won’t have the maintenance and upkeep to worry about. Best of all, members pay a monthly fee which is used to cover monthly operating costs, including maintenance staff and contract services to provide maintenance and repairs of community grounds, shared spaces, and members’ homes.

Member Owned.
Member Governed.

As a member-owned community, each member of Estoria Cooperatives has a voice in how the cooperative functions and the opportunity to contribute. First and foremost, a cooperative is a home for residing members with shared common space. It is also a community of people working together for the betterment of the entire membership. And, equally important, it is a business run by a member elected board of directors and through the support of established committees and the guidance of professional management services. The beauty of cooperative ownership is that member-owners are the decision-makers. Based on the history of cooperatives, it is believed the empowerment of member-owners as decision makers has a direct effect on health and aging well.
